I thought that was a bit over
the top, a bit too heavy. After all, we were just
contemplating some martial arts classes...or so I
thought. Keichu-Do,
however, is far more than just a martial arts system. It is a ministry
as well, one that has uniquely impacted not only my family but a
growing number of other families as well. It is one of the most
exciting discipleship ministries that I have encountered in a long
time. However, not everyone fully realizes the tremendous opportunities
for ministry, personal growth, discipleship, and family building
that Keichu provides. It is, I suppose, a matter of perspective...a
matter of the heart...a matter of being able, by the grace of God,
to recognize and benefit from all that Keichu has to offer.
June 2000...we had no idea, when we
walked into the Keichu-Do dojo (training
hall) how our lives would change. I just thought I was checking out
martial arts classes for my older children---almost on a whim---but
Soke Marx (founder/grandmaster of Keichu Do) had another perspective.
"It's no accident you walked in here," he told me. "God brought you
here for a purpose."
