Spoken Promises of Love You spoke to me of love that is so true,
And said, "This is the love I have for you."
Your claim was of devoted sacrifice,
And love to which can be affixed no price. You spoke to me of cloudless skies so blue,
And all the things together we would do.
You said nothing could part us until death,
And promised love to my last dying breath. But why, I ask then, did you fail me so?
What happened to your love to kill its glow?
What was your cause to leave me so alone
And go away for reasons still unknown? You spoke to me of love that is so true,
And said, "This is my love for you."
But failed to mention that you love would die,
And nothing would become of your blue sky.
